Lie awake waiting for the sun to come
Close my eyes, pretending to be somewhere I belong
How I’d wish this could be the start of something different
Where blues and bad news were unheard of and at a distance
Why do people lie and hurt the ones they love most on this earth
I don’t think I wanna get up today
I’d rather stay home in bed
Outside my window lots of people walk the streets
I wonder if they ever notice that they’re in the front row seats
To the world that passes by; the trees and sky, flowers that says hi
In their busy office lives
Maybe they know the secret, maybe they just don’t care
Money won’t make ’em happy but they take it as a dare
They make war to undo the injustice so that more people can die
All hidden within a fancy chart that covers up the lie
We cry about the corrupted people who empowered make poverty
But what’s so scary to realise, they’re just people like you and me
No, I don’t think I wanna get up today
I’d rather stay home in bed
